Thai Tatami Products Co.,Ltd. was established Thailand in 1993. We are the only Tatami mat manufacturer that produces a variety of products that are in part made from our Igusa rush. With modern technological machinery and skilled craftsmanship, we are able to create products that meet with the Japanese standards but at Thai price. We do wholesale, retail and custom-order to customers in Thailand, Japan and export to other parts of the world.

Our Igusa rush is planted in the northern provinces of Thailand. Igusa, as it is known by the Japanese, was originally developed over 2,000 years ago. It is grown just as rice. Planting takes place at the beginning of the rainy season, and good rush-grass takes about six months to mature. Igusa plants are not affected by insects or any other plant diseases.

Good selection process is the key to best quality product. We only choose strong Igusa grass to make our Tatami mat, which means that it must be thin, soft and durable. When properly treated, Tatami mat lasts over ten years. Our products lines include cushion, mattress, pillow, floorboard, table-topped décor, as well as personal accessories.

The natural color of Tatami mat is light brown with a tint of yellow and green. This is why furniture made from Tatami mat brings comfort and warmth to your interior. Tatami mat adapts perfectly to the modern interiors and furnishings. It is also useful as floor material for toddlers, who can play and roll around without any danger.

Tatami mat is often considered a health-related product. There are countless numbers of small holes inside Tatami mat’s fiber. These holes are able to absorb humidity and ventilate heat, and draw in Nitrogen Dioxide which can damage your health while at the same releases Oxygen. Whenever you lie down or sit on Tatami mat, you will always feel refreshing and comfortable even on a very hot day. The soft and pliant fibers of the mat will massage the sole of your feet and stimulate your blood circulation while you walk on Tatami mat flooring.

Tatami mat is very easy to care for and maintain. It is surprisingly durable and easy to clean, requiring only a damp cloth to wipe off stains and hang to dry. Tatami mat should be kept in a well aerate place. Do not allow it to get wet or get wash. Shoes or even house slippers should not be worn on Tatami mat, and furniture with salted or barred legs is recommended to prevent from creating marks on the mat. It should be noted that Tatami mat is neither fire-resistant nor stain-resistant. Although Tatami mat may be used outdoor, it should be brought in after use.
